ABAJO HAVEN HAS MORE STATE AND
NATIONAL PARKS WITH THE MOST OUTSTANDING SCENERY IN A
HUNDRED MILE RADIUS THAN ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD.
SEE
ANCESTRAL PUEBLOAN SITES FROM YOUR CABIN:
The ranch has many trails that start right from your cabin.
Some trails lead you to sites that date back to the
Basketmaker II people (around the time of Christ). You can
choose to hike, horseback ride, or ATV on these trails.
These trails will then connect you to either BLM land or the
Manti La-Sal National Forest. You literally could go
for days on these trails.
State Parks and Museums:
Base at the Abajo Haven Guest Ranch and visit the many
surrounding
State Parks and Museums. Blanding has three fantastic
educational museums. The Dinosaur Museum has many fossil
exhibits that are not only from the Blanding area, but also
from all over the world. Visit them at
www.dinosaur-museum.org The Edge of the Cedars Museum is
a State Museum that exhibits hundreds of Anasazi artifacts.
Visit them at
www.stateparks.utah.gov Huck's Museum has
the world's largest private collection of Anasazi artifacts.

The ranch is
adjacent to BLM land and one mile from the beautiful Manti-LaSal
National Forest. This mountain climbs to 11,000 feet
in elevation and is landscaped with junipers, oak, pinyon
pines, aspens, and beautiful mountain wildflowers.
This
mountain is abundant with wildlife including deer, elk, and
bear. You will get to see deer graze throughout the
year and if you are lucky enough to visit early in the
summer, you will see baby fawns close by their
mothers
who will start to bring them out in the open. Later on
in the year, the elk will start coming out in the open to
graze. This mountain will lead you into some amazing
country that you can explore for days or you may just want
to visit the nearby campground and see the rare Abert
squirrels that are unique to this area.
